Instructors are super nice and have a genuine love for the kids. They encourage everyone to do their best, as long as they are comfortable.

The space is tight, but they still provide a few features to play with and allow the kids to become familiar with each one in their own way. All equipment is provided should you need all guards, helmets, and boards. BYO butt pads though.

For a kid just curious and for a parent not looking to invest just yet, this is the perfect place.

My kid has been to Neighborhood Skates a few times now, and we’ve had such a great experience. Joyce and the other instructors are incredibly kind and generous in offering these free sessions for kids. Everything is thoughtfully prepared — all the safety gear is provided, and even the skateboards are ready to use, so all we had to do was show up and skate.

The location is very easy to access, and there’s a comfortable place for parents to wait during the session. Logan café is steps away. The session length feels just right: enough time for kids to put their gear on and off without rushing, and plenty of time to practice, play, and learn from the instructors.

The overall atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with absolutely no pressure. Kids of all levels and interests are encouraged, which makes it a really positive environment. Especially in the winter, this has been such a wonderful way for kids to stay active. My kid always leaves sweaty, happy, and excited to come back.
